Shoptimizer Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Shoptimizer (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and handles information when you install and use Required Pickup Date (the “App”).

The App helps merchants require a pickup date (and optionally pickup times and collection details) on the cart page before customers can proceed to checkout.


1) What data the App processes

Depending on merchant configuration, the App may process the following information:

  • Pickup date (required when the theme app block is enabled on the cart page)
  • Pickup time (optional feature; if enabled by the merchant, it becomes required for customers)
  • Collection details (optional merchant settings):
    • Name (may be required if enabled)
    • Phone number (may be required if enabled)
    • Additional notes (optional)
  • Seasonal product rules (optional), such as restricting certain products to specific availability windows

2) Where that data is stored

Customer pickup information (date, time, name, phone, notes) is stored within Shopify orders and is not stored independently by Shoptimizer.

Pickup details are typically stored in Shopify as:

  • Cart attributes (while the customer is on the cart page), and
  • Order notes once the order is created, so the merchant can view pickup details in the Shopify Admin.

The App does not maintain a separate customer database and does not retain pickup information outside of Shopify.

3) How we use the data

The App uses processed data solely to:

  • Display and validate required pickup fields on the cart page
  • Prevent checkout until required pickup details are completed (without removing or replacing the checkout button)
  • Ensure pickup details are visible to merchants for order fulfillment

4) Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with third parties except as necessary to operate the App through Shopify and its infrastructure.

5) Data retention

Pickup information stored in Shopify (such as order notes) is retained according to the merchant’s Shopify data retention practices.

Support communications may be retained for a reasonable period to provide assistance and improve the App.

6) Security

We take reasonable measures to protect data handled by the App. No system is completely secure, but we follow industry best practices.

7) Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Merchants may contact us for assistance with data-related requests.
